Accessing Your AMI from AWS Marketplace

  2. Connect via RDP:
    • In the AWS Console, select your launched instance and click Connect.
    • Choose RDP Client and upload your .pem key file.
    • Decrypt the password using your private key.
    • Download the .rdp file and connect using username: Administrator and the decrypted password.

First-Time Setup: After logging in, update the default admin credentials:
  1. Go to Users > Manage > Super Users.
  2. Edit the Super User account and set your preferred username/password.
  3. Save changes.

  1. Allocate an Elastic IP in the AWS Console and associate it with your instance.
  2. Update your domain's DNS A record to point to the Elastic IP.
  3. Access your site externally via the domain or Elastic IP (e.g., http://yourdomain.com or http://elastic-ip/joomla).
Security Tip: Configure security groups to allow inbound traffic only on port 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) from trusted sources.
