How to Access Our AMI from AWS Marketplace

  1. Subscribe to our AMI from AWS Marketplace.
  2. Log in to the server using your PEM-generated password:
    • From the AWS console, select your AMI and click the Connect button at the top.
    • A window will appear — select your PEM file and click Decrypt to retrieve your password.
    • Click Download RDP File and log in using the username Administrator and the decrypted password.

Where to find your Instance ID: In the AWS console, select your instance — the Instance ID appears in the lower details panel. Alternatively, it is displayed on the desktop when you log in via Remote Desktop.

Getting Started

The GlobalSolutions LimeSurvey offering comes pre-packaged with all dependent components. Simply subscribe to our AMI and start building surveys right away — no additional installation is needed.

Accessing LimeSurvey

Open the LimeSurvey icon on your desktop, or point your browser to the URL below. Log in with Username: Administrator and Password: your Instance ID.

After your first login, update the default admin credentials with your own details.

Email Configuration

To configure outbound email, log in as Administrator and navigate to Global Settings → Email Settings. Apply the following configuration:

  • Set E-mail Method to SMTP.
  • Set SMTP Host to your SMTP hostname and port.
  • Set your SMTP Username and SMTP Password for authentication.
  • Save — replace any pre-filled dummy values with your real credentials.

Accessing LimeSurvey from the Web

  1. Allocate an Elastic IP in AWS and associate it with your instance.
  2. If you have a domain name, update your DNS records to point to the Elastic IP.
  3. Access the application externally using either:
    • http://<elastic-ip>/limesurvey
    • http://<yourdomain>/limesurvey
